Krause Top Street Stocks At Labor Day Duel
Spring Valley, MN (September 2) - By: Todd Narveson: The Adams Graphix WISSOTA Street Stocks were one of the support divisions on the Barclay Landscaping Labor Day Duel at Deer Creek Speedway. The program was also sponsored by Spring Valley Chevrolet-Buick, Blake Trucking and Adams Racing.
Sixteen cars ran a pair of eight lap heat races and Bobby Blowers topped Mike Blowers and Zach Elward in heat one. In heat two Kory Adams headed Travis Krause and Jason Newkirk for the win.
Krause then redrew the pole for the 18-lap main event with Bernie Adams alongside. Krause took off from the start of the race and dominated the entire affair. Zach Elward who started eighth and Danny Richards came from row five to enter the top five.
Krause led all 18-laps to nail down his first win at Deer Creek since August 22, 2009. Danny Richards’ charge got him to second on the final lap with Mike Blowers in third. Elward raced to a fourth place finish and Jason Newkirk rounded out the top five.
In other action on the program, Dustin Kruse won the Out-Pace Ironman B-Mod feature. Pete Solum topped the Holley Ironman Stock Car field for his first Deer Creek win. Ryan Gustin won a wild USMTS Modified main event.
